| "There was Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man" published, I believe, in the 60's. It's a collection of short sci-fi stories, one of which involved a "rec room" of sorts in the modern home that had walls and ceiling made to transmit realistic-looking settings for the children to play in. For example, the kids could pretend to be knights fighting in 12th century England, surrounding be realistic images of the forest, the castle, and people of that era. The parents of the children playing in this simulated rec room become increasingly alarmed at the way the lions are looking at the children in the kids' favorite "Africa motif" setting, and they decide to forbid the kids from playing in the 'Africa setting'.
