"The butcher plant produces raw protein, not true meat, but a protein product that can be processed like meat, maybe think of it more like a really exotic nut plant. Because nuts tend to be more protein. So instead of growing wheat or a flour product, this plant grows a high energy protein like a nut, but on a higher level."

"I just wanted to post a (somewhat belated) reply to an earlier post by Tim Morrison. The butcher plant produces what amounts to a 'steak'; one of the characters actually grills them as is, straight from the plant.
