Comments on 'ETs Attacked Me With Meteorites' - Bosnian Man
This story is pretty hard to believe, but as long as we're looking into it, we might as well talk about kinetic energy weapons placed in orbit. (Read

"And don't forget the ultimate expression of Radivoje Lajic's worst fear:
(Meteors from Klendathu - Would You Like To Know More?)
How these meteors got here from clear across the galaxy, I don't know. (From the 1997 movie Starship Troopers, based on the RAH novel of the same name."

"Don't forget the "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress," where the moon colony used a rail gun to drop rocks on the US."

"I just finished Horizons by Mary Rosenblum. A large part of the plot revolves around dropping meteors onto earth. Good novel accept for the James Bondish scene where the bad guys tell all their secrets to supposedly trapped and doomed heros. "

"Damn Bill, you beat me to the bug meteor"

"So, did you forget about "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" where the revolting (heh) prisoners hurled steel-encased rocks at Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs reducing it to a smoking crater? That's the first time I saw anything like that."

"Sean - I did think about it; but I didn't go for it because I thought that orbiting kinetic energy weapons were closer to the idea of just dropping things from orbit. Like aliens might do if they were just hanging around in orbit in their 'stealthed' spaceships dropping small rocks on that poor Bosnian guy. But, you're right; the general case is shooting rocks at the Earth. No reason you can't add a little more mv2 with your railgun."

"Zac - Hah! I'm telling you, everything you can think of is on youtube somewhere. As long as I'm at it, here's the clip from Starship Troopers. Check out the solution to the meteor problem.
