| "The safety question is a good one, but there's no reason that this fabric can't be stretched over a 'cage' structure that will keep you as safe or safer than you are now. As far as cars today are concerned, when they refer to a steel 'skin' on those cars, they're not kidding. My dad owned cars in the thirties and forties (after the war); cars today have no where near the steel in the skin and the bumpers as they did then. It's also true that many cars today have plastic parts that are painted to match the steel skin on the car.
