| "Back in the '60's there was a story in Analog, although it might have been Astounding back then, that described a murder at an ocean mining facility on a planet covered with shallow seas. The mining was done by bioengineering corals and other shallow water species to selectively absorb specific rare metals dissolved in the sea water then harvesting the reefs adn extracting the metals. Sorry I can't remember the title or author.
