Bombardier recently came up with a new concept vehicle that "promises a whole new experience on the road." The EMBRIO would be a single-wheeled vehicle that used gyroscopes and sensors to maintain proper attitude. (Read the complete story)

"yeah.... with the mass of the rider mounted directly over the only wheel braking would be a real problem. the entire seating section of the bike would have to be rotated backwards so the rider was lower than the top of the wheel. acceleration would have a simillar problem"
