Comments on Human Brains For Robots?
In science fiction, it's usually space aliens who decide to use human brains to run things. However, in the real present it's the humans who are working on it. (Read the complete story)

"Star Trek fans may recall an early instance of brain theft to run a computer system. In Spock's Brain, first aired in 1968, gorgeous space aliens steal his brain to run their civilization. Naturally, Kirk finds them easily; Bones creates a special controller to let him move Spock around while they chase after his brain (see also the real-life remote control for humans).

"One word: ROBOCOP"
(Will Hobson 10/21/2009 1:50:33 AM)
"Moira also points out that in Robocop 2, a human brain is installed in a robot. The article on cultured rat neuron brains mentions that it is unlikely that human neurons will be approved for use. For now.

"The up-side of this is in Anne McKaffrey's Ship series, where the "brains" are all volunteers for whatever reason. Usually because they have a much better state of living as a ship brain or city brain then they would have had in their original crippled bodies. "
