" Hello thank I was one of the ametuer writers which submitted for the S.E. concept. I was wondering when the results would be revealed?! Wasnt a tech like the anti-depressent device suggest for,and in deep space travel concepts? "
(Brain K. Shipley 3/6/2005 7:28:06 AM)
"I have, and continue to battle depression. Currently I am on wellbutrin (Bupropion) which, for now, seems to be working. A non-drug tool for battling depression would be welcome, of course, the picture of the patient with the needle going through his skull made me climb the wall backwards but if it meant NOT having to deal with depression for an extended period in my life, even something as "willies-producing" as a needled through the skull would be worth it."
(PGR 4/22/2005 3:51:16 PM)
"could you please include the picture"

"Excellent, and the tiny steps like these will become a big leap of humankind to compete the mother Nature and even helps her to restore its old beauty!"
(M.S.Vasan 11/11/2005 9:58:35 PM)
"Like PGR, posted on 4/22/05, I also have suffered for Clinical Depression, and am also taking Wellbrtrin. I started taking it in 2000, taking just the the 'regular' dose of 200mg a day. (I say regular, because today, they have Wellbutrin SL, and XL) After the regume of medicine I have taken, and am now on Wellbutrin XL, I feel that something like DBS would be a binifit to people suffering from many forms of depression. But for people like myself, who are on disability, and cannot afford this treatment, medicine is the only hope we have."
(W. M. Adkins 11/12/2005 8:13:15 AM)
"Can you come up with anything for bipolar people?"
(Beverly, beseccentric@yahoo.com 11/15/2005 8:49:25 PM)
"The procedure in Canada is 45,000 dollars. However, they should have trials at Emory in Atlanta by the end of 2006. I dont know what the price will be though."
(diurnal 3/13/2006 4:15:37 PM)
"Oh, the things 45,000 could buy me... none of which I could enjoy because of this Godforsaken disease that has robbed me consistently since I was a small child. I want to be free. I don't need to be a robot; just normal so I can function off of disability, which I was granted at the age of 22. I am 37 now. I can only pray for relief. This brings me some hope... I have a hunch that it will work for me. "
