" I was under the impression from the article that the antipsychotic meds did not kill the parasites at all. They just fixed whatever chemical imbalances the parasite caused. If that is the case, I suppose it would be a temporary fix until you could get something that would actually kill the parasite."

It's suggested that it could be a reptile or insect parasite or the dreaded worms One funny thing, I have it and my dog acts just like a cat. Licks himself clean like a cat, hates water, gets hair balls and is a loner. He understands people and even seems to understand the concept of time. Work on delayed gratification, self control, and real kindness. It pleases them and you'd be surprised how many good people didn't go to work on 911 or survived accidents that they shouldn't by all logic. "Now here's a question, if you had dormant toxoplasma ocycts that are suppressed with anti-depressants/anti-anxiety medications then is it possible to reactivate these ocycts by taking a drug to quit smoking such as Chantix all of which are used to work on the chemicals in your brain, the interesting thing is Chantix works against anti-depressants. Due to my recent diagnosis of Toxo after months of hell/doctors visits etc. I believe that the anti-depressants I was taking were counter acted from the Chantix which in term made the parasite wake up and spread rather quickly. I have been sick for 3 months and now after 4 blood tests were positive. Finally the infectious disease doctor wants to treat me. The strange thing of it all is I am just your average healthy woman that doesn't own a cat and have experienced the wosre possible symptoms from the mind boggling parasite. Not to mention I don't need the anti-depressants anymore.I really feel doctors are extremly negligent and lack the proper knowledge on how to diagnois a patient with Toxo which is due to the incorrect wording on the web-sites stating the hiv/aids and people under going cancer treatment/pregnant are the only ones at risk, that is all B..S...I have been fighting this disease months and I will continue and pray that one day the world will take this illness more seriously.
