Comments on RI-MAN And Roujin-Z Robots: Elder Care Fact And Fiction
Hospital robots can go either way, according to sf writers and anime creators. Will we see both? (Read the complete story)

"Tom said: "It is potentially a better alternative to the negectful care our current age hostiles provide." Robots shouldn't be the answer to our loss of social bounds with our elders, and of our less taking care of them. Wouldn't it be far better if 1) each family took better care of their elders; and 2) the insitutions, in which too many elders are sent when their family do not want of them anymore, would be improved ? (like hiring more people to work in a more human way to help those elders) If this is a problem so important as to need millions (or even billions) of dollars into super high-tech robots with lots and lots of embedded AI, maybe is it also worth thinking of a more human way of helping those people, like asking real humans to help them ? Or not leaving them behind in the first place ?"
