DIY Gibson Video Column Convenience Store Video
Sometimes I get tired of waiting for the future; when that happens, you need to do it yourself. On this occasion, I was thinking of the video column from the Lucky Dragon convenience stores in All Tomorrow's Parties, a 1999 William Gibson novel.
I can't quite do that, but I can get us closer. Take a live look at convenience stores from around the world. Appropriately, we begin in Japan. Click the link under the picture to get to the webcam.
There were Lucky Dragons all over America, all over the world for that matter, and to prove it you had your trademark Lucky Dragon Global Interactive Video Column outside. You had to pass it entering and leaving the store, so you'd see whichever dozen Lucky Dragons franchise [it] happened to be linked with at that particular moment: Paris or Houston or Brazzaville, wherever.

Then, see who's stopping at this convenience store in Helsinki, Finland.

Finally, here's a store from right here in the USA.

Now, you just need to send them your picture... Anyway, I've always liked the video column idea, and I can't take too many more episodes of "America's Top Model," which my daughter insists on watching.
Convenience store webcam contributions from readers are welcome.
