MDI OneCat AirCar Breezes Toward Consumers
The MDI AirCar is a great concept that has taken a sharp turn toward reality as a consumer product. Guy Negre has announced that he is working with the Tata Group of India to begin actual production of the MDI OneCat AirCar.

(MDI OneCat AirCar)
Tata will only sell the car in India and will not export it. That is actually part of the plan; the intent is to design the car in such a way that it can be produced closer to consumers.
"This will be a major saving in total emissions," Negre says.
"Imagine we will be able to save all those components travelling the world and all those transporters."
The OneCat will seat five; its fiberglass body is just one of the many ways that the total weight of the car is reduced to just 350 kilograms. The car will sell for less than $5,000.
The AirCar is powered by compressed air stored in carbon-fiber tanks built into the chassis of the car. Compressors at filling stations will get you back on the road in just three minutes.
More details may be found in an earlier article on MiniC.A.T. Urban AirCar; you might also want to look at the mostly critical comments on the AirCar made in response to the original article.
