OLO iPhone-based Laptops
OLO Computer plans a laptop based on the iPhone. I think the basic idea is really slick.

Here's how the OLO iPhone-based laptop would work. Just slip the iPhone into the spot usually occupied by the trackpad on the laptop. If they did this right, it could be quite inexpensive, and supply added battery power and screen support, while using the iPhone's processor, memory and applications.
I was trying to figure out an sfnal precursor for this idea. I'm thinking about small devices that fit into larger ones, to form the core of the larger device's functionality. Help me out, readers!
