Tivo, Facebook: Online Pizza Deliverators Proliferate
Tivo has teamed up with Domino to help you order and pay for pizza with your TV+Tivo service and then get it delivered promptly to your house. In a related story, Facebook friends of Papa John will get a free medium pizza; earlier this year, Papa John also started text message ordering. I find myself wondering if the pizza guy will just open your front door and deliver it right to your couch...

(Real pizza from digital sources)
Karen Bressner, Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales, TiVo Inc said, “Joining forces with Domino’s Pizza creates an effective marketing and commerce tool for Domino’s while enhancing and further distinguishing TiVo as the ultimate way to watch TV with a closed-loop advertising experience. This exciting new partnership offers yet another advertising solution as commercial avoidance continues to increase. With just a few clicks of the remote, TiVo users can pause their program, order a pizza, and then sit back, relax, and return to their favorite show without missing a single second.
Ah, how I long to live in a "closed-loop advertising experience."
Well, it seems like everyone online wants to be your pizza deliverator.
I, for one, truly enjoy the confluence of science fiction and real life, and the pieces are really starting to come together here for fans of the pizza deliverator scene in Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash.
First, the smart pizza box from Snow Crash has got to be a bit closer with this Pizza computer case mod.

(Pizza computer case mod - it really works)
Then, of course, you need the deliverator car from the same novel. It turns out that a company in Houston is working on the deliverator car - the Carputer.

Now, we just need to start working on those arachnofiber uniforms
His uniform is black as activated charcoal, filtering the very light out of the air. A bullet will bounce off its arachnofiber weave like a wren hitting a patio door...
No wait, someone is actually working on that, or at least the fabric. Read more about carbon nanofiber smart yarn.
