Biomimetic Robots Blow Your Mind
Robots with biomimetic actuators are under development by graphic artist Yoichiro Kawaguchi. These robots reimagine primitive life in forms not used since the Cambrian Era. I can also tell you that the last time I saw colors this vivid on living things, I was dreaming after eating some szechuan chicken with way too much MSG.

Professor Kawaguchi has left us these models in much the same way as life in ancient geological eras have left us fossils. Kawaguchi and his team hope to gain insight into how living things survive in natural competition.

The robots will have simple reflexes and primitive visual processing that recognize and follow objects. Biomimetic actuators that imitate the way that centipedes smoothly crawl are also under development; finished bots expected in two years.
