ApriAttenda Robot Nurse For Aging Japan
Toshiba's ApriAttenda robot nurse shown below is the latest in an increasingly long line of robot nurses and robot nannies. With a long life expectancy, a low birthrate and tight immigration rules, Japan is looking to the science of robotics to provide care.

Ray Bradbury is one of the science fiction writers who saw this trend clearly more than forty years ago. In I Sing the Body Electric! he writes about an electrical grandmother who takes care of the young and the old alike.
