Hotelicopter Hovering Hotel
The Hotelicopter is a luxury hotel - based on a Soviet Mil V-12 helicopter. The Hotelicopter has 18 rooms with lavish appointments. (Update: And it's also a fake! Take one last loving look at this clever fraud - see the Hotelicopter video.)

The soundprooofed rooms have queen-sized beds, coffee machines, Wi-Fi, and flatscreen TVs. You won't be able to book any rooms until this summer; no word on pricing - or destinations.

The Hotelicopter reminded me of the kite-copter from Jack Vance's classic 1952 story The Kokod Warriors. They were used for aerial sightseeing, watching the fights of a warrior alien race.
The observation vehicle was of that peculiar variety used in conveying a large number of people across rough terrain. The car proper was suspended by a pair of cables from the kite-copter which flew five hundred feet overhead.

I'll bet a kite-copter would be quieter and vibration-free compared to a Hotelicopter. Of course, you can only fly in a kite-copter in your imagination, thanks to Vance.
