Waveface Flexible OLED Tablets

The Waveface is a concept OLED tablet computer from ASUS. Their intent is to create a series of computing devices using flexible OLED sheet displays. For example, you could make a small tablet computer that is all screen; the flexible screen permits folding in half to create a laptop-style computer.

Another version is the Waveface Casa, which is essentially a sheet of OLED hung as a display medium.

E.C. Tubb had a similar idea for the Waveface Casa, a flexible wall sheet display. Here's an excerpt from his 1958 novel The Mechanical Monarch:

Against one wall a wide sheet of clear material suddenly flared with light and swirling colour. It steadied and a woman stared from the screen. A woman with long dark hair and eyes that were like twin pools of midnight beneath her heavy brows. She wore a dress of some shining black material and her full lips were red against the whiteness of her skin. Curt stared at her, savouring her remarkable beauty, and was barely conscious of the hush which settled over the restaurant.

"An important announcement from the Matriarch ... That is all."

Her image shifted and dissolved in a writhing mass of colour...
