Life-sized Duplicate Of Deceased Girlfriend Manufactured
A grieving businessman wasn't quite ready to give up on his deceased girlfriend, and approached fembot maker Diego Bortolin to make a mechanical duplicate.

Using dozens of photographs, a duplicate girlfriend was constructed with articulated joints, a titanium skeleton, life-like skin and flexibility of a normal human. All for just $23,000.
This idea has a long history in science fiction. In her 1895 story A Wife Manufactured to Order, Alice W. Fuller writes:
Alighting from the carriage the door was opened, and I was ushered into the presence of the most beautiful creature I had ever beheld. The hands extended towards mine, the lips opened, and a low, sweet voice said, "Dear Charles, how glad I am you have come!" I stood spellbound, and only a chuckle from Mr. Sharper brought me to my senses."... "Bless me, I really believe he thinks her alive."
