Betty Crocker, The First Company Avatar

Betty Crocker was never a real person - she spoke for the company and even had a radio program. Maybe, the first company avatar.

Compare Betty Crocker to the living advertising characters in Alfred Bester's masterpiece, his 1956 novel The Stars My Destination:
