DoCoMo Cell Phones Mobile Fragrance Equipped

The NTT DoCoMo mobile fragrance communications kit uses the same scent technology that has already been placed in theaters and even homes. Now, a properly equipped phone can play fragrances for you.

The idea is that a list of fragrances is sent over your phone; the Mobile Fragrance Communications Kit can then receive this list and then present each fragrance in sequence using a portable aroma generator.

The idea of a "fragrance playlist" seems a bit odd, but maybe your significant other is a fragrance sequence designer.

Anyway, I think that Frederik Pohl has a better organized version of this idea in his legendary joymaker cellphone/PDA from his 1965 novel The Age of the Pussyfoot.
