Well, spring is here and you know what that means - lawn robots!
(Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD Video)
Husqvarna, the world leader in robotic mowers, launches a game changing robotic mower for homeowners with challenging lawns and connected homes - Husqvarna AutomowerŪ 435X AWD. With an all-wheel drive system and a new unique body design with two connected bodies, Husqvarna AutomowerŪ 435X AWD robotic mower can climb steep slopes with an incline of up to 70%. To put the number in perspective, a black downhill slope has an incline of approximately 40-60 %, and the incline of a ski jump hill measures about 70 %. The new robotic mower from Husqvarna can manage areas of up to 3500 m 2 and operates at 62 db.
Starting this spring, Husqvarna AutomowerŪ435X AWD, and all other Husqvarna robotic mowers with Husqvarna AutomowerŪ Connect, will be able to use voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Via these voice-controlled speakers, the user can manage the mower.
Advanced users can design their own program for the robotic mower via the open API.
In his 1944 novella City, Clifford Simak describes the joys of the robotic lawn mower:
Gramp Stevens sat in a lawn chair, watching the mower at work, feeling the warm, soft sunshine seep into his bones. The mower reached the edge of the lawn, clucked to itself like a contented hen, made a neat turn and trundled down another swath. The bag holding the clippings bulged.
