"I think that self-limitation is the major limiting factor for most people in the world."
- Frank Herbert

Tongueprint Verification
A device that verifies the unique print of the tongue against a a database for identification purposes.

You may not use your tongue for routine tasks involving machinery, but Puppeteers do.

Nearing a public stepping disc embedded in the walkway, [Nike] dipped a head into a pocket. With nimble lip nodes he retrieved an address from his personal transport controller; his tongueprint authorized access to a secured file. The disc flicked him instantly to a restricted location: the employee vestibule of the foreign affairs ministry.

For those of you unfamiliar with Pierson's Puppeteers, they have two heads at the end of long, flexible necks that serve the same purpose as hands do for humans. The lips are knobbly and the tongue can also be used to make selections.

See also the entry for stepping disc.
