"The trouble with too much genre SF is that it's so obviously the product of the conscious mind."
- William Gibson

Tourist Rocket
A cheap, unpleasant way to do space travel.

Leave it to Pohl and Kornbluth to think about space flight when it is so common, it is discounted - and has an unpleasant economy class.

It wasn't a pleasant trip; it was a miserable trip on a miserable, undersized tourist rocket. We flew low, and there were prism windows at all seats, which never fail to make me airsick.
From The Space Merchants, by Frederik Pohl (w/CM Kornbluth).
Published by St. Martin's Press in 1952

Compare to the space-liner from Jack Williamson's 1931 novel Twelve Hours To Live.
