"The way you write science fiction is: you sit down at your writing machine and you open your mind to the first thought that comes through."
- Frederik Pohl

Vastening
It's hard to describe, but it's a robotic sense perception.

Tongue-in-cheek reference to robotic sensory perception.

"Howíd you know where to reach me?"
"I vastened you," the robot said.
"What?"
"I vastened you were at the Vox-View studios with Patsy Brock."
"Whatís vastened?" Gallegher wanted to know.
"Itís a sense Iíve got. Youíve nothing remotely like it, so I canít describe it to you. Itís rather like a combination of sagrazi and prescience."
"Sagrazi?"
"Oh, you donít have sagrazi, either, do you? Well, donít waste my time..."
From The Proud Robot, by Lewis Padgett.
Published by Astounding Science Fiction in 1943

I'm particularly interested in the idea that robots will have deep learning-based intelligence and intuition that cannot be understood or explained by humans.
