"Money to me is freedom, and freedom is essential. Money allows me to say that I will now devote my life to being me, rather than putting on my shoes and tie, and going to an office every day."
- Robert Silverberg

Specific Gene Weapon
An organic or inorganic weapon aimed at a specific genetic population.

Mannichon despaired of making a significant contribution to science, being stuck in the Detergents and Solvents division.

The tests went on methodically. The 500 yellow mice duly succumbed. A yellow Afghan win an illustrious pedigree, bought at great expense, lasted less than an hour after lapping up several drops of Mannichon's solution in a bowl of milk, while a black-and-white mongrel liberated from the pound for three dollars barked happily for two days after sharing the same meal. Dead goldfish lay by the hundreds in Tageka's refrigerators and the yellow-bottomed babboon, after showing deep affection for Tageka, tolerance for Crocket and a desire to murder Mannichon, was laid to rest only ten minutes after its relevant parts had been laved in a purposely weakened variant of the solution...

"We've gone just about as far as necessary with the lower orders," Tageka Kyh said. "The next experiment suggests itself inevitably."
