"When you're making a revolution in cyberspace, things look rather different from the way the 1980s cyberpunks wrote it."
- Charles Stross

Private Space Cruiser
A fully space-worthy ship under private ownership.

This is a very early reference to the idea that private individuals (rather than just governments) could own space-going vessels.

...Private pleasure-boats were numerous, too, mostly affairs of gleaming white, and most of these were apparently bound for the annual Jupiter-Mars space-races.
From Crashing Suns, by Edmond Hamilton.

Robert Heinlein wrote about a Joy-Boat Junior, a commercially produced suborbital spacecraft, in his 1941 novel Methuselah's Children. In the same novel, he also discusses privately owned spacecraft capable of interplanetary trips.
