"The best fuzzy rules, the best knowledge, deal with the turning points of the system. If a race-car driver teaches you how to drive, you don't need him to show you how to drive on the straightaway. It's how he handles the curves that matters."
- Bart Kosko

Capillotomer
  An automatic shaving machine

Not much more than the name for this item; every guy can appreciate this one.

He pushed his face for a moment into the capillotomer. Shave completed, the booth sprayed him with scent and dusted him off. He was beginning to feel like himself again.
From Beyond This Horizon, by Robert Heinlein.
Published by Street Publications in 1942

This word is cleverly formulated from the latin roots for capil hair plus otomy - the act of cutting.

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a truly automatic shaver.

Compare to the depilatory soap from Gravy Planet (1952) by Frederik Pohl (w/CM Kornbluth).
