Several services are now beta-testing that will allow you to use your cellphone as a credit card. c-sam turns your phone into a "mobile wallet", offering a secure Mobile Transaction Platform; it offers bill payment, person-to-person transactions, prepaid shopping cards, to mention a few. Their company vision?
Smart mobile phones have emerged as the new convergence platform for financial and non-financial transactions. The idea that mobile phones are primarily for mobile voice communication is not just antiquated, it is a serious waste of the transforming potential of the technology. In a growing number of countries mobile phones have become a means of running the affairs of daily life.
