"No one has ever produced a statement of fact that was technically true. The most accurate statements of science we have today are accurate to only 15 decimal places."
- Bart Kosko

Web (Data Network)
  An information network.

This is the first time I've seen the word "web" used as the name for a communications network. Not surprised to find it in the work of PKD.

"On the contrary," Williamson said, entering the vehicle. "We've been receiving your Relay coordinates for over a century." He motioned Rogers to get in beside him.

Rogers was puzzled. "I don't understand. You mean you hooked onto the web and yet made no attempt to --"

"We receive your coordinates," Gene Williamson said, "but our citizens are not interested in using them."

Compare to the data-net from The Shockwave Rider (1975) by John Brunner and the blacknet from Halting State (2007) by Charles Stross. Also, see webcast from Armageddon Blues (1987), by D.K. Moran.
