"As the rate of technological development speeds up, the gap between science fiction and what we’re living now is getting narrower all the time."
- Richard Morgan

Space Cadet
A young person training to be a spaceman.

Although Robert Heinlein wrote a well known novel with this title, the phrase "space cadet" appears only in the novel's title.

That hatch may open again, however, at your word, to return you to Earth. I rest it on your honor as space cadets that if it should, what I say to you now will remain within the hull of the Aldebaran.
